This Monday on “Success In The Evening With Coach Ricky Terry” Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Gina Robinson will join Success Coach Ricky Terry to discuss the topic of mental illness. For many people, the holiday season is not the “most wonderful time of the year.” Instead feelings of sadness, financial stress, isolation/loneliness, unrealistic expectations leave many people longing for the end of the holiday season. According to a survey in 2014, the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) reports that approximately 24% of people with a diagnosed mental illness find that the holidays make their condition “a lot” worse and 40% “somewhat” worse.” —Mental Health Statistics for 2019 Ms.Gina Robinson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Maryland and in the District of Columbia. She is a graduate of Howard University School of Social Work(1996)and UMBC (1992, BA Psychology). For the past 23 years she has been committed to helping children, adolescents, young adults and families by providing therapy in individual, group, and family settings. She has treated clients who present with depression, anxiety, grief and loss, trauma, ADHD, and Autism. She has honed her craft by working in both public and non-public school settings as well as in residential settings, and in private practice with typically developing students as well as students who have challenges that impact their education. Gina is the owner of Milestones Counseling & Consulting Services in Columbia, MD, where they help clients develop skills for everyday life. Community, Connection, Creativity and Collaboration are core principles of her practice She believes in the potential of her clients to do more than they may think. As a mental healthcare provider and owner, daughter, sister and friend, Gina often says, “life happens to everyone,” and draws on life experiences in her treatment with clients.
