No. 2 Auburn led Texas by 21 points in the second half but had to hold on tight at the end as the Tigers edged out the Longhorns 87-82. With the win, Bruce Pearl earned his 214th victory in his 11th season at Auburn, surpassing Joel Eaves—who coached the Tigers from 1949 to 1963—as the winningest coach in Auburn basketball history. Following No. 1 Tennessee's blowout loss to Florida, 73-43, on Tuesday night, Auburn is in prime position to claim the No. 1 ranking next week.
