Seeing Beyond Blindness

In John chapter 9, we encounter a humorous yet profound narrative of a man born blind and the various reactions to his miraculous healing by Jesus. The chapter serves as a vivid illustration of spiritual blindness, where everyone, except the healed man, is unable to see the truth. The disciples, the man's parents, the Pharisees, and the crowd all exhibit their own forms of blindness. Jesus, the Light of the World, performs a simple yet powerful miracle, challenging our either/or thinking and inviting us to consider God's third options in life. Through this story, we learn what prevents us from seeing spiritually and how obedience in the ordinary can lead to extraordinary outcomes.
