When writer and comedian Mark Humphries joined the Seven Network earlier this year to host a satirical segment for the 6pm national news bulletin, the announcement was met with endless headlines and heated social media commentary.

So why has three minutes of weekly television been the subject of so much debate?

Mark, satirist James Schloeffel and comedians Charles Firth and Veronica Milsom will tour nationally with The War On 2024 Annual Comedy Gala from November 27.
