Badmotorfinger is the third studio album by American rock band Soundgarden, released on October 8, 1991, through A&M Records.[5] Soundgarden began the recording sessions for the album with new bassist Ben Shepherd in the spring of 1991. The album maintained the band's heavy metal sound, while featuring an increased focus on songwriting compared to the band's previous releases. AllMusic considered the album's music to be "surprisingly cerebral and arty"; alternative tunings and odd time signatures were present on several of the album's songs, and lyrics were intended to be ambiguous and evocative.

The focus on the Seattle grunge scene helped bring attention to Badmotorfinger, and the singles "Outshined" and "Rusty Cage" found a major audience in rock radio and MTV.
Badmotorfinger has been classified by various critics as grunge,[7][8] alternative metal,[9] heavy metal [10] and hard rock.[11]

They were able to secure a recording contract with Atlantic Records with the support of the Rolling Stones’ Keith Richards . Send us a text Power in the Darkness is the debut studio album by English punk band Tom Robinson Band , released in early 1978. The UK LP had ten tracks. It included inside the album cover a stencil similar to the cover art, but with the album title replaced by "Tom Robinson Band"; it held the warning, "This stencil is not meant for spraying on public property!!!" The US release was packaged with a seven-track bonus LP. The record sleeve of the bonus LP included the number to the Gay & Lesbian Switchboard of New York . These four tracks are alternative performances to the ones that recently appeared on the critically acclaimed live album WELCOME TO THE BLACKOUT (LIVE LONDON ’78), and none were featured on the original 1978 E.P.. Initially released in the UK in January 1977 on the groundbreaking LOW album, ‘BREAKING GLASS’ was co- written by Bowie, bassist George Murray and drummer Dennis Davis. Send us a text Queensrÿche is the debut EP by American heavy metal band Queensrÿche , released independently in 1982 through 206 Records and reissued later that next year through EMI America Records . A remastered edition was reissued in 2003 through Capitol Records . In the early 1980s, Queensrÿche was known as The Mob, a cover band that played songs from popular heavy metal bands such as Iron Maiden and Judas Priest . [3] Their line-up consisted of guitarists Chris DeGarmo and Michael Wilton , drummer Scott Rockenfield and bassist Eddie Jackson . Without a singer, they performed several shows with Geoff Tate , who at the time was the front man of the local band Babylon, and later of Myth. Tate chose not to join The Mob, because he was not interested in performing heavy metal covers. [4] Inspired by the positive responses from their performances at local rock festivals, The Mob decided to switch from playing cover songs to writing original music.
