Who do you resent right now? Is there a relationship you have that, when you think about it, it gives
you a knot in your stomach?
Hi, I’m Noah Saylor here at Sherwood Oaks Christian Church. When we look at the Beatitude of the
Peacemaker, Jesus says that those who make peace with others will be called ‘children of God.’ Just
like how kids resemble their parents, we demonstrate God’s character when we work to restore
harmony among our friends, family, and community. James chapter 3 affirms this by saying that,
“wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, and gentle…”
So when you have that person you know who just gives you feelings of frustration or resentment, go
to that person now and make peace. It will hurt your pride, and you can’t control how they will
respond. But this is an essential aspect to living out the life Jesus commands us to live. Who do you
need to make peace with?
