Playing the Palace
Manage episode 419841314 series 3558372
Welcome to this week's episode of Queerly Popular! Today, we're talking about the 2021 book Playing the Palace. It is about an American Associate Event Architect (Carter Ogden) who meets the Crown Prince of England (Prince Edgar), their romance, and the issues they have.
I did definitely enjoy the book, even though it suffered from 2 major issues. Most characters were stereotypes and not as fleshed out as they should have been and the romance between Carter and Edgar seemed to be super rushed and not as earned as it could have been. That being said, it was a fun book and well worth reading. It just won't enter the pantheon of classics the way Red, White, and Royal Blue has.
Here's the promised link to My Thoughts About the Red, White, & Royal Blue Sequel.
I know I've been altering the schedule a lot recently and I apologize for that, but it's been for a good reason. On June 6, we'll be back and talking about the movie The Idea of You. and on June 20, we'll talk about the movie Handsome Devil before we take a break until August 1st.
