Historically, this day holds much significance. It is likely the day the earth was created and it stood as the first day of the year for centuries.
Until the eventful day when Jehovah instructed Moses to begin the Sacred New Year at Aviv: "And the LORD spake .. ''This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.'" Exodus 12: 1-2
In my opinion, one future Day of Trumpets will be the day that our Lord Jesus will re-enter the world in fury and vengeance and make the kingdoms of this world once again the KINGDOMS OF OUR GOD!

at conjunction the moon is not visible;
the renewed moon crescent is visible to all;
it's a matter of authority!
