Tyson Ross grew up playing baseball in Oakland. He went on to play Cal (Berkley) and was drafted by his hometown team the Oakland A's in 2008. Ross pitched 10 seasons in MLB and was selected to the All-Star team in 2014 (Padres). After hanging up the spikes, Ross started Loyal to My Soil, a non-profit that provides free baseball camps to kids in the Bay area. He also works in development for the Dodgers.

This episode is special because you hear directly from Tyson, about why he felt the responsibility to give back to his community. The Bay area is changing dramatically and fewer kids are playing baseball than when he grew up. Fewer kids have the opportunity to play than when he grew up. Tyson and his organization at Loyal to My Soil are working to improve that.

We also talked about his journey in baseball, his playing career, and his family. Tyson's brother is an MLB player for the Brewers, and his Dad saved a person's life in the stands (crazy story, Lol).
