Welcome to Book Club and Episode 2184 of the Italian Wine Podcast with Richard Hough. Today Richard is in conversation with the award-winning wine writer Tamlyn Currin, senior editor and writer for JancisRobinson.com.

Every year Tamlyn reads and reviews hundreds of wine books for JancisRobinson.com and this year she has selected five of the best for the Italian Wine Podcast.

As well as her top 5 wine books for 2024, the conversation also covers, amongst other things, the Japanese concept of Tsundoku (having more books than you can read), the Italian taste for bitterness, the Armenian genocide and the perils of ordering in France.

The Italian Wine Podcast Top 5 wine books of 2024 as selected by Tamlyn Currin are:

  1. A Season for That by Steve Hoffman

  1. One Thousand Vines by Pascaline Lepeltier

  1. Who’s Afraid of Romanée Conti by Dan Keeling

  1. Wine Confident by Kelli A White

  1. Natural Wine, No Drama by Honey Spencer

More about today’s guest:

Tamlyn Currin is a senior editor and writer for JancisRobinson.com with particular interests in sustainability, developing wine regions, artisan wine producers, and the connections between community, culture and food that create resilience. She was born and grew up in Zimbabwe and moved to the UK in 1995, which is where she discovered and fell in love with wine. She has been writing about wine for two decades and has a distinction for the WSET diploma.
