Alan Holcomb joins Sports ‘N Torts for Episode 119. Alan is a graduate of UGA and Emory Law School. Alan is a lawyer in Atlanta who has been widely recognized for his legal prowess and trusted experience as a trial lawyer in serious injury cases involving trucking accidents, product liability, traumatic brain injuries, burn injuries, medical malpractice and mass torts. I have been trying to schedule this podcast with Alan for quite some time – but he has been busy representing his clients in Court and obtaining a $495,000,000 jury verdict – no, that is not a typo and yes, that is a lot of zeroes and yes Alan and the trial team worked tirelessly for their client to obtain this incredible result in St. Louis, Missouri earlier this year.

In this episode we discuss:

-Alan’s move from equity partner at Weinberg Wheeler to the Plaintiffs side

-the vision for his firm Turnbull, Holcomb & LeMoine

-finding passion for the work and being relentless in pursuing the case

-the national scope of his practice and the firms commitment to “go to the moon” if that is where the case is

-outmaneuvering large defense firms with limitless resources

-juggling managing a growing firm with properly litigating and handling complex cases

-approaching discovery and litigation like the Viet Cong and not the Red Coats

-what are mass tort cases

-nuts and bolts of his recent $495M verdict in a trial against Abbot Laboratories

-using social media in an appropriate and effective way

-lessons learned from Coach Kirby Smart which he employs at his firm

-sports gambling

This is a great episode to really get inspired to help people through your work and what it takes to succeed. Alan is the man!
