A 27-year-old San Marcos man was sentenced to life in prison without parole Thursday after a jury convicted him of murder in the death of his 1-year-old son on the Fourth of July in 2018. Stevie Dwayne Williams Jr. and his wife had called 911 claiming that they found their son, Mason, not breathing after a nap. First responders in Kyle tried to resuscitate the child but soon noticed bruising and evidence that death had occurred hours earlier. Investigators later learned that Stevie Williams had called his grandmother and told her the baby was dead, 12 minutes before calling for an emergency response.
