When a young Eva Kollisch arrives as a refugee in New York in 1940, she finds a community among socialists who share her values and idealism. She soon discovers ‘the cause’ isn’t as idyllic as it seems. Little does she know this is the beginning of a lifelong commitment to activism and her determination to create radical change in ways that include belonging, love and one's full self. In addition to Eva Kollisch’s memoirs Girl in Movement (2000) and The Ground Under My Feet (2014), LBI’s collections include an oral history interview with Eva conducted in 2014 and the papers of Eva’s mother, poet Margarete Kolllisch, which document Eva’s childhood experience on the Kindertransport. Today on the show, we're talking about Michigan and Michigan State Basketball, High School Basketball, and more as we were joined by some of our great guests. We kicked off the show talking about Michigan Basketball as Chris Balas from theWolverine.com joined us. He and Huge previewed tonight's game against Maryland, looked ahead to Sunday's game against MSU, and more. We were then joined by former Spartan Drew Neitzel. He and Huge gave their thoughts on how tomorrow's MSU game against Iowa will go, talked about hopefully winning the Big Ten Title outright, and more. In our second hour, we were joined by Buck Geno, who calls High School Basketball on our affiliate 96.1 The Game in Grand Rapids. He and Huge talked about the "Road to the Breslin" for boy's and girl's High School Basketball, talked about some of the match-ups, gave their thoughts on what teams have been playing the best, and much more. We were then joined by Clayton Sayfie from theWolverine.com so he and Huge could talk about Michigan/Maryland tonight. They gave their thoughts on what Michigan needs to do to get a W tonight, talked about what could give them trouble, and more. In our final hour, we were joined by Dave and Carol Van Andel, so they could tell us about their 13th Annual Grand Rapids Griffins Purple Community game.
