In this opening sermon for our sermon series walking through the Book of Daniel, we begin where the story begins - Daniel chapter 1. Daniel chapter 1 sets the stage for the rest of the book. It gives the context for who the main characters are, the protagonists, the antagonists, and an opening drama.
Daniel begins in 605 BC when King Nebuchadnezzar of the Babylonian Empire (which has just risen to immense power) comes to Jerusalem to take captive young men who will be trained in the way of the Babylonians.
