LAN LAW
Lan Law is a country duo comprised of brothers Lance Curtis and Lawson Wayne. Hailing from Batesville, Arkansas, the siblings split their time between home and Music City and can most often be found on the road playing stages across the southeast. The name LAN LAW comes from a combination of the first three letters of the brother's first names.
Growing up in a musical family, Lance and Lawson showed musical inclination around the same time they learned to walk and talk. They both play music by ear. By age 9, Lance was proficient in guitar and piano and Lawson was not far behind in keeping up with his big brother. They are 4 years apart in age. Lawson loved to sing at church but wanted to be in the background until age 13 when he began playing music more seriously with his brother.
Lance wrote his first song at 14. He has a true country soul which is reflected in the songs he writes and the way he performs. Because he was raised on classic country music, he takes that and adds to it the perfect blend of modern edge flair to create LAN LAW's unique sound. He notes Cody Johnson, Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley, William Michael Morgan, Jon Pardi, and Luke Combs as his biggest musical influences. By age 19, Lance was working with record producer Kent Wells (Dolly Parton) and recorded his first solo album, about the time Lawson was beginning to write songs and was getting more comfortable in the limelight.
After three years of wearing the hat of full-time drummer and backup vocalist for his big brother, Lawson joined the band. As they say, the rest is history. A duo was formed and LAN LAW was born - highlighting the sibling's rich heritage, southern rock vocals, and blood harmony.
Then, the boys began writing together. It was natural as close as they are and sharing the same musical influences. Shortly after, they were booked for a tour with the largest Taco festival group in the U.S. They opened for FOZZY at the TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville, FL. and were later opening shows for Collin Raye, Gene Watson, Barrett Baber, and Craig Campbell.
In 2023, LAN LAW won the European-based International Red Carpet Awards' Duo of the Year and they are nominated for 6 more awards this year. They also received 4 nominations for The 2024 Josie Music Awards which will be held at the Grand Ole Opry House on October 27th.
Lance 23, and Lawson, 19, used the pandemic to hone their craft focusing on their writing and recording as a duo and it has paid off. Since then, LAN LAW has released their debut and sophomore singles, "Back In Town" and "Hillbilly Legal." They also released their first official music video for "Hillbilly Legal" that continues to gain support on video outlets across the nation.
