Not fallowing is not following. Judah was taken into exile because of its idolatry, which doesn't surprise us. But there's another reason that God expelled the nation: they refused to follow His instructions for a 7-year sabbath of the farmland. There was more at issue than just nutrient replenishment of the soil. It was a question of who really owns that patch of earth, and whether He can be trusted to provide. We're still thinking about Daniel's Prayer.
