To the Jewish reader almost three thousand years ago, a reference to Edom brought back a millennium of connected history. But a Bible student in the twenty first century AD likely will not see the same connections. With that in mind, we will consider some questions to help guide our study: Who were the Edomites? Are there any extra-biblical sources to confirm their place in history? What happened to them? What can we learn from them?
