As we conclude our series titled, “It’s Like…” Pastor Dion highlights one more metaphor for the Church – The Church as “The Flock of Christ.” Using different traits of sheep we can learn how we are to live as the Church, with Jesus as our Good Shepherd.
This Sunday we are blessed to have Pleasant Valley supported missionaries, Michael and Savannah Driedger with us. Michael and Savannah serve at the YFC drop-in in Niverville. This morning Michael shares with us some metaphors for the Christian life that he learned while learning to surf in Tofino.
Pastor Jesse continues our “It’s Like…” series by looking at the Church as the Bride of Christ. Pastor Jesse digs into what this metaphor means from God’s angle as the groom, and from ours as the bride of Christ.
Pastor Dion continues our “It’s Like” series by looking at how the church is called to be like the Temple. Spending time in Ephesians 2:19-22 Pastor Dion draws out the way in which the church is built as a Temple, and how we are practically called to live that out.
As we continue looking at different metaphors for the Church found in the New Testament, Pastor Jesse focuses this week on “Family.”
Darren Plett continues our “It’s Like” series by looking at the metaphor found in Matthew 5:14-16. Immediately following last weeks “Salt of the Earth” metaphor, this weeks focus is on, “Light of the World.”
Pastor Jesse opens up a new sermon series titled, “It’s Like…” This series will explore different metaphors that are used in the Bible to describe The Church. Today Pastor Jesse begins by looking at the metaphor found in Matthew 5 – “The salt of the earth.”
As we prepare to enter into the New Year, Pastor Dion challenges us to focus more on Jesus’ character, and less on ourselves. Using verses from the Advent Calendars that were handed out at the beginning of December, Pastor Dion speaks of Jesus bringing salvation, being our shepherd, and being great and worthy of our praise.…
Guest speaker Kendall Schmitke joins us this morning as we continue walking through our Advent series focused on “Comfort and Joy”, this morning specifically, Joy. Kendall challenges us to be windshield people, looking forward towards Joy, and not focusing too much on the small rear view mirror.
Pastor Jesse continues our Advent Series by looking at the less familiar Christmas Story which is found in Revelation 12.
Danae Parkinson opens our Advent series by speaking from Isaiah 40:1-5. Comfort and Joy are the focus of our Advent series this year. Danae speaks about some of the basics that may often be overlooked in the Christian life.
As we look forward to Advent beginning next week, Pastor Dion asks the question, Why Advent? He leaves us with a few challenges to consider as we enter the Advent season.
