He is talking about life. Life is a major theme in the gospel of John. In one sense, Jesus has always lived and always will live. He IS life! Joh 1:1-4 He is talking about a particular kind of life, one His disciples will share in the future. Joh 3:16 In the gospel of John, Jesus talks about eternal life more than any other kind of life. In chapter 17, Jesus will define eternal life: Joh 17:1-3 He defines eternal life as knowing the Father, and knowing Jesus, in an intimate way.
