In this lesson of Surah Al-Anfāl, verses 9-16, Shaykh Dr. Aḥsan Ḥanīf explains that during the Battle of Badr, the Muslims invoked Allāh عَزَّوَجَلَّ for help, and Allāh عَزَّوَجَلَّ responded by sending a thousand angels to support them. The angels’ presence was a sign of Allāh's mercy, strengthening the hearts of the believers and causing slumber to overcome them as reassurance. Allāh عَزَّوَجَلَّ also provided rain to solidify the ground, alleviating the fears of the Muslims and defeating the whispers of Shayṭān. Allāh عَزَّوَجَلَّ commanded the angels to fight alongside the believers, striking terror into the hearts of the disbelievers. This event serves as a reminder of Allāh's power, wisdom, and His promise to support His believers when they are faithful. Victory is only from Allāh عَزَّوَجَلَّ, and punishment is severe for those who defy Him.
