L'albinisme est une maladie rare qui affecte la production de pigments mélaniques, touchant environ une personne sur 15.000 en Europe, et une personne sur 4.000 dans les pays africains.Les personnes atteintes d'albinisme font souvent face à la stigmatisation et à la discrimination en raison de leur apparence distincte et de leur handicap visuel. Cette discrimination est encore plus accentuée dans certains pays africains où les traditions et croyances exacerbent leur marginalisation.Le 20 juin dernier, les Nations Unies à Genève organisaient un événement autour de l'exposition de photos "White Ebony" de l'artiste belge Patricia Willocq à l'occasion de la Journée internationale de sensibilisation à l'albinisme.Patricia Willocq et Antoine Gliksohn, Directeur exécutif de l'Alliance mondiale de l'albinisme sont les invités d'ONU Info Genève cette semaine.
