Hunter Biden's gun trial began Monday at a federal courthouse in Wilmington, Delaware. Twelve jurors and four alternatives were sworn in. Mr. Biden, First Lady Jill Biden, and the president's daughter Ashley Biden were in the courthouse.

Dr. Anthony Fauci testified before Congress on the origins of COVID-19 and the U.S. response to the pandemic. He continued to deny allegations that he helped cover up the lab leak theory in the early stages of the pandemic. Republican lawmakers grilled Dr. Fauci on federal funding that was linked to the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China.

President Joe Biden is expected to sign an executive order Tuesday on the border crisis. It would shut down asylum requests at the southern border after over 2,5oo illegal immigrants arrive a day.

Mexico's ruling party candidate Claudia Sheinbaum won the presidential election in a landslide. She vowed to continue on the direction set by her mentor and predecessor, outgoing President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
