Paul in times of physical imprisonment, reminds the church at Philippi that God’s plan for his life is so much greater than anything we as humans can comprehend or understand. He encourages the church at Philippi to embrace the perspective that all of life should be viewed within the lens of God’s rule and reign, as described in Scripture. Paul stresses the power and sufficiency of the Gospel and how even in times of imprisonment, the Gospel is still transforming lives! This kingdom perspective should form within us as believers a mission-oriented life that deeply longs for lost people to encounter Jesus as Lord and Savior! Even when going through difficult circumstances, dealing with difficult people, or navigating difficult emotions, the kingdom perspective allows us to truly live a life worthy of the Gospel!
