Have men always wear pants and women skirts? Has rose always been the color for girls and blue the color for boys? How did people do to know if the person in front of them was a man or a woman? And has gender identification through clothing been always there and important? These are some of the main questions we will try to find answers to in this new episode of My Fashion Stories Box Podcast.

Together we will travel back in time to:

  • Understand how past civilisations used clothing and accessories to give information on genders;
  • Determine when a clear gender differentiation between men and women appeared and how it was translated through clothing and appearance;
  • See the evolution of gender identification through clothes over the time.

And, as this question relates closely to gender definition and perception, we will also look at its evolution in past societies and consequences on how men and women would dress.

Follow me in this new episode of My Fashion Stories Box Podcast to learn more on how visual communication through dress has been used in the past to reflect gender identities.
