The Importance of Empathy in supporting individuals with special needs. What is empathy and why has it become an essential skill needed especially when supporting individuals with disabilities? On today’s show, I’ll be talking to a friend, parent, and advocate of children with special needs and a fierce supporter and ambassador for spreading kindness and love in the community.
Amy Bazan ( @amybmumof3 ) was born and raised in Oklahoma and currently lives in Oklahoma City with her husband Juan and their three daughters, two of whom are on the spectrum. She has volunteered with Autism Oklahoma for over 10 years including special interest boards. She has recently joined the board of @greenonyxfoundation She has homeschooled her younger two daughters since 2018. She is also an entrepreneur of both a social media management company and an environmental drilling company. She is an avid foodie and her hobbies include pottery, plants, reading, travel, deeply personal conversations, and the family dog Stella.
