On this episode of Movie And A Beer, we explore the vast emptiness that is winter in North Dakota in the late 1980's in Fargo. Directed by Joel Coen, the story is quite simple and the outcomes were not terribly shocking, but the acting and visuals make this film a must see and classic tale that brought a spotlight to the Minnesotan culture and sensibilities.
We were lucky to have a couple of beers from Drekker Brewing that's based out of Fargo ND in honor of the films namesake. They are distributed out here on the west coast so you should be able to find them at some bottle shops and taprooms around Portland. They are known for their fruit smoothies and strong IPAs, both of which we had for the film.
