The Barovians are welcomed in Lord Georgiy home, superintendent of the Vatyr Salt Mines. They hope for shelter and food after their harrowing trek on the frozen sea. Lord Georgiy does not seem a very charitable man, but noticing how capable the four outsiders seem to be, he offers a trade.
