Pedestrian Killed on Canton Road

The Cobb Police Department is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred around 7:27 p.m. Friday on Canton Road, north of its intersection with Jamerson Road. According to police, an unidentified Hispanic man was crossing Canton Road from east to west outside a marked crosswalk when he was struck by a black 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLE. The driver of the SUV, a 42-year-old man from Woodstock, and his two juvenile passengers were not injured. The pedestrian was transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, where he later died. Authorities have not released the pedestrian’s identity. The incident remains under investigation. Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Cobb County Police Department STEP Unit at 770-499-3987.
