In this proposed model, up for discussion among administrators this week, the Big Ten and SEC would pool resources to commandeer 58% of the CFP's base allocation. This marks a departure from the previous paradigm, where the "Power Five" conferences evenly divvied up 80% of the CFP's $460 million in revenue. The anticipated equitable distribution of 58% of the revenue would overshadow the predicted split for the ACC and Big 12, hovering around 31%. The remaining roughly 10% would find its way to Notre Dame and the 64 Group of Five Teams. In essence, the envisioned scenario presents a grim outlook for the Big 12. Its member teams stand to collect approximately $12.3 million annually from CFP revenue, while the SEC would rake in almost double that figure, tallying around $23 million per year. However, Dellenger's report unearthed an intriguing subplot that warrants scrutiny, particularly from observers tracking developments in the Big 12. The ongoing negotiations concerning the revenue-sharing arrangement include a provision for examination, championed by Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark.
