Hey Humor Consumers,

***ATTENTION: Help spread the word to all near Holland, Michigan***

Join me for some LIVE comedy fun on Thursday, September 28, 2023. "Not Biologically Dutch" is what we are calling this 90-minute endeavor (because I married a Dutch man and Holland Michigan is crawling with Wooden Shoes. ;0). Grab tickets here: https://tracydegraaf.com/events

Now, back to episode 139 "Doreen Went to the Hospital"

Friends, It's Tracy here. Cat is really going through a stressful time. Her mom, Doreen, a 79-year-old beautiful British (and also American) soul who has Alzheimer's disease got Covid and was hospitalized. It was very traumatic for Doreen and for Cathrine and her sister Wendy too.

She is ok.

Doreen got out of the hospital yesterday and is staying with Cathrine and her husband Kenny until she recovers enough to go back to Wendy's. And now.....Cat has Covid too. Dang Covid. I'm sure we are all sick of it. Literally.

This week's episode is short and sweet. We had to use some "new to us" tech and I thought I was capturing video too, but that didn't work. At least we have some audio.

Cat explains just how tough it was for her mom. She was scared, confused, frustrated, tired, and on top of all of that she had Covid. Booooo.

Friends, if any of you are going through a health journey with an elderly loved one, our hearts go out to you all. I've been there with my dad prior to his death in 2019 and with my mom 30 years ago. She wasn't elderly, but the whole process was just hard. Just know that we love you all. We believe in Jesus and kindness. Let's go spread some.

Keep Doreen in your prayers as she gets her strength back up. Pray for Cat as she cares for her.

Love,

Tracy and Cathrine

P.S. Cat had to GO cuz Doreen had to GO. ;0) So we closed in a rush. Sorry. Hopefully all will be better next time.

  • Give feedback. Let us know what topics you would like us to cover. We did a brain dump a few months ago and we were all proud of our ideas, but now we look back on some of the topics we came up with and 🤮. We need your help. What would you like to hear us talk about? What are your favorite episodes? What are your least favorite? (It's ok. We wear big girl panties now (100% cotton briefs for me - Tracy). We want to serve you, our audience. So we need to know how we can bet do that.
  • Share our podcast with your friends and family. Help us grow our audience by sharing on socials as well as just direct message to your gals. If your mom would LOVE to LOL with us, but she doesn't know how to find a podcast....no worries! We didn't either. But Cathrine's daughter and my son helped us. And now we know. Grab your mom's phone and find our podcast for her. Like it, follow it, subscribe to it etc. and hit the notifications button so she will know when we have new episodes (which we are extremely proud to say has been consistently every Wednesday at noon CST).
Thank You to our amazing sponsors:

Humor Contributors: Katie, Colleen, Ursula, Nancy, Kenny, Karren, Jeannine, Muffin, Dar, Courtney, Joan, Gayle, Carla and Linda. Thank you for your generous support. We're saving up for new microphones (that will be awesome) and down the road maybe an editor and some advertising. We are also looking into attending a conference for podcasters in Florida in January. Fun.

***MORE ABOUT TRACY DEGRAAF COMEDY***

Hi Friends, Tracy here. My husband and I survived raising 5 boys and there were so many funny stories along the way. Now is my time to "show and tell." 🥳 I put these stories in my book and on stage in my comedy act. It's so much fun.

Join my email community to add some fun to your inbox. https://tracydegraaf.com/email-community Follow me on social!

➡️Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/TracyDeGraafComedy ➡️Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/tracydegraaf/ ➡️Twitter:https://twitter.com/tracydegraaf

If you're new to my comedy, here's a little about me.

I'm from the Chicago area and I perform my one-woman clean comedy show “Life Happens Laugh Anyway” nationwide for both corporate and non-profit organizations.

My comedy combines two of my passions: Christianity and breast cancer awareness. (I was diagnosed in 2016 with stage 1 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma...a fancy name for breast cancer. Currently, I'm doing great and am cancer free!)

As a Christian and a breast cancer survivor, I use my platform to inspire women spiritually and motivate them to schedule their breast cancer screenings. I like to tell women “I want you to know Jesus, but I don’t want you to meet Him face-to-face just yet.” 🙏❤️

I pull material from my experiences as a wife, mother of five grown sons and middle-aged woman. I love performing for Girls Night Out Events, Women’s Conferences, Fundraisers, Breast Cancer Awareness Events, Cancer Survivor Events and more. I was trained for comedy at The Second City in Chicago. I'm happily married to my husband, Ron (a.k.a. Muffin) since 1989 and we are now empty nesters! 😁 We can't stop smiling. Our boys are spread out between Colorado, Illinois and Indiana.

I publish a weekly podcast called Life Happens Laugh Anyway with my bff Cathrine and it is so much fun. We started the podcast when the world shut down during Covid since all of my shows were canceled. It's a hoot. We tackle a new topic weekly that we think our audience will care about and discuss it in an entertaining way. We close each episode with some spiritual encouragement. 👍
