Following previous releases for Saturn, Venus, Pluto, Earth and Moon. 7th Sun follows Kris Vango’s ongoing theme of albums that conceptualise planetary music. Exploring the sonic landscapes of the Sun through various post-club electronics and synthesis. Produced, mixed and mostly written at Uluru in central Aus-tralia, said to be the solar plexus chakra of Earth with a subject that evokes the indigenous roots of a country that is seen as a contemporary western strong-hold. The album is themed from sunrise to sunset. Beginning with a tribal ritual for the Suns morning rays and ending with the sonic imagining of a sunset over water. Throughout the 10 tracks, the album warps and winds through experimental electronic, dance-pop, IDM, hip hop and techno. With the archetypal themes of self-empowerment, positivity, energy, indigenous identity, strength, endurance and the self that are reflected in spiritual understandings of the Sun’s role within our psyche and consciousness.
