It's the Monday edition of the "LWOS Media Daily" as host T.J. Rives returns off the weekend to go over some topics of interest in sports media. They include:
DirecTV and Disney reached a deal Saturday morning to allow the streaming service to once again show their channels and programming. This was just in time for all the college football action on ESPN and ABC that was to have been pre-empted for the second straight week. Now, Monday night football, Dancing with the Stars and American Idol, etc. are all back on DirecTV.
Next, T.J. goes over the game broadcasts for College and NFL from this weekend and what he liked and didn't like as much. There's no disputing that there were plenty of blowouts in big games both days to deal with. This included Tom Brady's second game on Fox being a one sided whipping of the Cowboys this week against the Saints.
But, the same was true for Fox's "Big Noon" game of Alabama at Wisconsin and CBS loing the rare opportunity to have Notre Dame on their network, as they destroyed Purdue in the new Big Ten slot of 3:30 East, etc.
And, T.J. concludes with wondering what's up with award winning broadaster Al Michaels and how he continues to have downplayed, lackluster calls of big moments and games for Amazon Prime at this stage of his career?
