A federal judge in San Francisco orders President Trump to rehire probationary workers let go in mass firings across 6 agencies. District Judge William Alsup calls the firings "a sham," saying the Trump administration did not follow the law and its explanation in court that the firings were based on performance, in his words 'was a lie.' So far, the order extends to reinstating 30,000 fired workers, (at the Departments of Veterans Affairs, Agriculture, Defense, Energy, Interior and Treasury), but the judge says he may extend the order to cover other federal agencies.
