Chris Griffiths: Not my will, but yours

Chris follows our series of messages on who Jesus is by starting to look at what Jesus did.

Jesus showed us how to surrender to God’s will. We need to put our faith in God’s will, not our own – just like Noah and Moses.

Noah built an ark that was 75 feet wide and 450 feet long taking thousands of man hours. It was not easy and let’s not forget he didn’t have a B&Q to use for materials!

Moses is called to lead the Israelites out of Egypt and, after raising objection upon objection, finally accepts God’s will.

Fast forward to Jesus. After asking God to take the cup of his crucifixion away, he says “may your will be done.|

Jesus conquered his fears through prayer and submission, showing us by example how we can do just that.
