In this episode the trio head towards Cerulean City, though Misty is doing all she can to prevent this. Ash heads straight to the Gym to battle for his second gym badge, the Cascade Badge. Though when he enters the Gym seems to be used as a source of entertainment for the town in the form of Synchronized swimming and water shows. Once he meets the 3 cerulean Sisters we learn why Misty didn't want to come here in the first place.
