In his first recorded interview with the Western press since the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan and subsequent collapse of the Afghan Government, 4-Star General Yasin Zia, former Chief of General Staff Afghan Security Forces, discusses what went wrong, and plans afoot to mount a counterattack.
General Zia is a recipient of the Ghazi Mohammad Akbar Khan Medal - Afghanistan's highest governmental award - for his bravery on the front lines of the battlefield over more than 20 years. He is a former governor of Takhar Province, and Deputy Defense Minister.
