Dr. Scarlett Lin Gomez is a professor of Epidemiology & Biostatistics at University of California San Francisco, and joins Insight to discuss the increased breast cancer risk among Asian American and Pacific Islander women. Dr. Gomez is also part of the first long-term cancer study of the AAPI community. Día de los Muertos is a time-honored tradition that celebrates life, death, and remembrance. This vibrant holiday has deep roots in Mexican culture, and its observance has spread across California, blending art, history, and cultural expression. The California Museum recently hosted its 11th annual Día de los Muertos Fiesta, unveiling a new exhibit titled “Arte de Inspiración: Día de los Muertos 2024.” The exhibit showcases altars created by artists, each honoring influential figures from California’s history, with a focus on activism and social justice.
