This week, in what might be the funniest episode yet, Molly and Emese are joined by co-stars Amy Schumer and Brianne Howey. They get candid about motherhood, career evolution, and their new film, Kinda Pregnant —which unexpectedly led to Amy’s latest health discovery. Amy opens up about how public criticism led her to uncover her Cushing syndrome diagnosis, what it’s like to navigate comedy and Hollywood as a mom, and the importance of sharing birth stories without shame. Brianne shares how becoming a mother has shifted her perspective on work, how Ginny & Georgia ’s Georgia Miller compares to real-life parenting, and the power of female friendships in the industry. We also go behind the scenes of their new Netflix film, Kinda Pregnant —how Molly first got the script, why Amy and Brianne were drawn to the project, and what it means for women today. Plus, they reflect on their early career struggles, the moment they knew they “made it,” and how motherhood has reshaped their ambitions. From career highs to personal challenges, this episode is raw, funny, and packed with insights. In a soul-searching conversation with one of my fellow DEI Consultants, she asked the critical question that I immediately wrote down – Can We Stop Pretending? Can we stop pretending that you care about DEI? Can we stop pretending that if we follow the rules, we'll get promoted? Can we stop pretending that you want inclusive hiring practices? Can we stop pretending that you want to hire diverse people? Can we stop pretending that inclusion includes everyone? Lord, can we stop pretending that you want anything Black after Black History Month ends? Breathe! In this episode of Inclusion Unscripted, Margaret Spence, will unpack the pretenders and ask, when can we all stop pretending that you truly want any of this DEI stuff? So we can have a level-set discussion about the future. Of course, it's hard as a person of color not to call out the pretenders – but to maintain our sanity, we have to say, I think you're pretending to want DEI. If you're an ally, it's easy to say you believe in Diversity - But Allies Cannot Believe that Diversity Is Enough! The fight for diversity and inclusion intensifies, and the silence is deafening. All the beautiful "inclusive statements" have dried up, and the propensity to push back against the erosion of inclusion is lost in the shuffle. The courage to say your actions against diversity aren't right is lost in the zeal to return to normal. What is normal if diversity and inclusion initiatives are being eroded before our eyes? In this episode of Season 3 of Inclusion Unscripted, Margaret Spence will discuss the war on diversity and supporters' silence. Then, we ask the question, who still has our back? Honestly, I don't think anyone does. We will talk through recent layoffs, the canceling and acquiescing of Black History education, and the open war on inclusion - to what end? What Season Best Describes Your Career? It's time to do more than survive! As we move toward the end of the year, it’s time to assess where you are in your career and begin the process of moving toward your renewed goals. Many of you are still in survival mode. Some of you are in the cul-de-sac of your career. Others are in the whirlwind of undefined expectations. Like the transitions of seasons from fall, to winter, to spring, to summer – your career is going through a metamorphosis. As we transition from one season to the next, our circumstances, needs, mindsets, and actions must evolve. In this episode of Inclusion Unscripted, Margaret Spence asks, What season best describes your career? Your career teaches specific lessons, but most of us aren’t listening. Introspection: Are women given winnable roles? What happens when women fail on the public stage? Two days ago, I predicted that the British Prime Minister wouldn’t last until the end of the week. Of course, I’m sad that I was right. But her public demise should make every woman take a moment to think about their own rise and potential fall. When women rise, are they adequately supported? What causes women to flame out in the first place? What does a woman’s failure say about the fate of other women? Are women the cause of their own failure? In this episode of Inclusion Unscripted, Margaret Spence will look at how women rise, how they fail, and why we must better prepare women to be effective leaders. The critical leadership fact, women are often set up to fail even when it looks like we’re rising. We will unpack the path to failure so women can spot this in their own career journey.
