Many of us have aspired to achieve what some would call the “American Dream”. But how often does that dream conflict with the plans that God has for our lives? While there is nothing wrong with having nice things, we must be willing to lay them down when God asks us to.
In Matthew 6:19-21, Jesus says “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.”
