Throughout Jon’s years in ministry, there have been several key moments where things did not seem to be going as planned. It was through these experiences that he learned a very important lesson: God’s timing is often not our timing.
The most critical thing for us, on occasions like these, is obedience to the Lord; waiting on Him rather than trying to do it in our own timing. As it says in Psalm 27:14, “Wait for the LORD; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the LORD.” and then in Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
