Full conversation with @0xASK cofounder at @OmniFDN below There are some very good insights made by Austin in this convo that I'm really happy we went into because they definitely make you think hard about how the functionality of the future of the blockchain will actually operate. It was also a great sell on why @Ripple is worth paying attention to and how they are playing their specific part in creating the future of finance along side companies like Omni. Such a good sell that he convinced me I should add both to my portfolio. Some key talking points: - Omni is building cross-chain infrastructure to make DeFi more accessible, aiming to hide chain complexity from users - Order flow, not L1s, will capture the most value in crypto - challenging the common belief that base layers will accrue most value - Real world assets (RWAs) are likely to migrate on-chain in stages, starting with simpler assets like stablecoins before moving to more complex instruments - Austin believes L2 fees have largely moved away from Ethereum L1, suggesting the "fat protocol" thesis may be incorrect - The project currently supports Ethereum L1, Base, Arbitrum and Optimism, with Solana integration coming soon - Omni functions like a "bulletin board" where users post what they want to do, and sophisticated parties bid to execute those actions - Specifically how regulation can be massively positive for crypto, enabling traditional asset integration
