A name is a way to identify a person. However, there are different ways for creating names. In Western society, we often create new words and use them as names, such as Shaquana. However, in ancient Hebrew society, they often took existing words and combined them to create names. For example, Israel is the combination of the Hebrew words prince and god. This has led to confusion because the Bible usually doesn't translate names into English. As a result, some people believe there is something special about the Hebrew word verses the English transliteration of the word. In this episode, we will help clarify this misunderstanding as well as provide some insight on other aspects of names.
