Has Facebook become the new crime TV? On Sunday, April 16th, a Cleveland man, identified as Steve Stephens, uploaded a video which showed him shooting a 74-year-old man in the head. On March 19th, several teens and young adults streamed a live video while they raped a 15-year old girl. And let’s not forget 14-year old Nakia Venant who streamed her suicide in March, live on Facebook. Make no mistake, this increase of live violence and crime streaming is not just a Facebook issue. This is a social media-wide issue. Have we become so desensitized to horrific acts of violence and crime, that we are willing to be acceptant of the social media’s lack of censorship or control of what can be streamed live? On this episode of Hot Topics Talk Radio, Toni Breedlove and Rollin Dee will be addressing the recent violent crimes and acts that have been the hot-bed of live streaming on social media. What can be done about censoring or stopping these acts from being posted and viewed by an open audience? Join Toni and Rollin Dee on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at 8pm PDT/ 10pm CDT/ 11pm EDT, for this very in-depth and needed forum. We want to hear from you! Listen and share your comments live on-air by calling (646)200-3148.
