Join Diana Hulet and I for a conversation about the intersection of spiritual practice and environmental breakdown.

Here's a sneak peak of what we discuss:

  • The call to go inward AND the call to engage in the world
  • Holding space for our anger and sadness without being reactive
  • Dropping the narrative that we have to show up a certain way in order to practice
  • VULNERABILITY
  • Chronic illness and climate disaster

Authors mentioned: Rumi, David Whyte, & Sophie Strand

Diana recommends checking out this podcast from Oregon State University: Inner Nature

If you enjoyed today's episode, you might like this episode of Swimming & Singing, where Jen May shares her experience working with goats as a way to connect to nature, be of service, and relieve stress. If you want to dive a bit deeper into the intersection of spirituality and nature, check out this blog post where I share 3 books I've read and enjoyed on the subject!

Diana is a Pacific Northwest yoga teacher and activist. She has been steeped in the yoga tradition for over three decades and has been teaching yoga and yoga philosophy since 2004. Her teaching style is an ongoing synthesis of hatha and restorative yoga, breathwork and meditation and Diana’s classes will often include teachings from yoga philosophy, Buddhism and other dharmic traditions. While she has been influenced by many luminaries and mentors, Diana has always seen life as her greatest teacher and inspires her students to do the same.

Diana holds a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies from Oregon State University where she focused on the intersection between worldviews, sustainability and environmental ethics. Diana currently teaches in the Mind Body Program at Oregon State, and offers seasonal practices and retreats in the Pacific Northwest. Diana has always been deeply inspired by the natural world and enjoys photography, writing and hiking a Pacific Northwest trail with her best canine friend, Lita.
