Chris Nowinski is a former football player at Harvard University and professional wrestler with WWE, World Wrestling Entertainment. After enduring a career-ending head injury, Chris has dedicated his professional life to serving patients and families affected by brain trauma, particularly Chronic traumatic encephalopathy, or CTE, a progressive neurodegenerative disease that develops after repeated head injuries. Derek, a seasoned performer and charismatic persona offstage as he is onstage is one of the best vocalists I’ve heard in a while. His range and energy is infectious and I connected almost immediately with this Cali rocker, who hails from shredding guitar and busking on the Santa Monica pier to tearing it up with Steve Vai and even jam buddies with Stephen Perkins(Janes Addiction).
