Kik (pronounced Gig) Udomprasert is a storyteller, language nerd, and meditation enthusiast with 10 years of experience as a film & TV industry professional. Born and raised in Thailand, Kik thinks back on her cultural roots, compares the Thai culture with the American culture, and educates us on the Thai name system and why all Thai people are given a nickname by parents at birth. Considering herself as a Buddhist, Kik also talks about her concern over the commercialization of Buddhism currently happening in Thailand, and explains what the five moral codes of Buddhism are. Kik and Oliver also touch on how religion is so often weaponized to be against the minority. Kik and Oliver, both speaking English as their second language, nerd out on the language intricacy of English, Thai, and Mandarin. After having worked in the film & TV industry for a decade and decided to leave it, Kik shares her opinions on career change and the difference between quitting and leaving.
