Territorial Music Director for the USA Western Territory, Neil Smith, tells us all about his work, his role as Staff Bandmaster and his soon-to-open pizzeria. Euphonium legend, Derick Kane, is back on the podcast for a Fully Scored first – an analysis of a solo. Derick gives us a fascinating insight into Norman Bearcroft’s ‘The better world’ which was written for him. As well as telling us about the origins and the writing of the solo, Derick also gives some performance and practice advice for soloists.
