On Episode 3 of Foodstuffs, we look at how a meaningful relationship with food is best seeded early in life. We talk to David Lockett, founder and volunteer president of the PACT Urban Peace Program, about PACT's Grow to Learn curriculum at John Polanyi Collegiate Institute, and about how he's looking to change the world by engaging local business talent and harnessing their resources for the good of those in need. And then Bryan goes to Elmvale, Ontario, to speak with Wade Stamp, owner of The Saucey Pig near Wasaga Beach, and makes everyone jealous by talking to about- and then eating- one of his incredible pulled pork sandwiches. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^ THANKS! Thanks this week to David Lockett of the PACT Urban Peace Program (pactprogram.ca) and Ben Marshall for connecting us; Adam Dirks who oversees the PACT Grow 2 Learn Garden at John Polanyi Collegiate Institute; Rahim Essabhai of the 2014-15 Rotman Business Program at JCPI and his students, Sara, Hilary and Aditya. Be sure to listen to Extrastuffs to hear more about the impact the garden had on the JCPI business class last school year. Big thanks to Wade Stamp from The Saucey Pig in Elmvale, Ontario. Check out their Facebook page (on.fb.me/1JUDIX6), if you're in the mood to drool. Thanks always to Erik Betlem, Ken Stowar and Sam Petite and CIUT for recording facilities. And a big thank-you for Chris Foster (www.chrisfoster.ca) for our Foodstuffs logo. It’s so beautiful! ^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Foodstuffs is a podcast about food and culture, and their intersections. It is the brainchild of Jessica Walker and Bryan Goman. Episodes released every second Wednesday. www.foodstuffs.life
