Chris Nowinski is a former football player at Harvard University and professional wrestler with WWE, World Wrestling Entertainment. After enduring a career-ending head injury, Chris has dedicated his professional life to serving patients and families affected by brain trauma, particularly Chronic traumatic encephalopathy, or CTE, a progressive neurodegenerative disease that develops after repeated head injuries. A perfect storm of illnesses and international travel worked against us this month. Neither of us believe that menstruation makes a person a woman or that only women menstruate. The conversations we had about these films were about the representation of these things in the context of cis girls/women, who seemed to be the targeted audience, and we tried to do so in a way that wasn’t invalidating to others.
