Facebook Goes Full MAGA By Hiring Republican Official

Facebook founder and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has decided to fall in line with other business leaders who are kissing Donald Trump's ring by hiring a former Republican official to be the company's new head of public policy. This is an obvious attempt to suck up to Trump and the entire Republican Party that will control every branch of the federal government. Companies are bowing down in order to protect their profits, and the public will be the ones who get screwed in these deals.
In another effort to appease Donald Trump, the Republican majority in the House of Representatives pledged late last week that they would investigate the January 6th Committee, though they were mum on why the Committee would even need to be investigated. Mike Johnson took issue with Liz Cheney receiving the Presidential Citizens Medal on Thursday, and responded by promising investigations into the Committee in response.
The House Ethics Committee quietly announced on New Year's Eve that they were "dropping" multiple different investigations into multiple Republican lawmakers that had been accused of misusing campaign funds for their own personal gains. The dropping of these investigations shows that we cannot trust these people to police themselves and that we need an independent body to carry out these vital checks on those in power.
